Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an unarmed Security Officer for Wilmington, NC. You will monitor and patrol campus areas, deter incidents, and provide friendly customer service to students, staff, and visitors.

You will document activities using our reporting tools, respond to alarms, and work with a collaborative team to maintain a safe, welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• 6 months of security-related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required by state/local laws.
• Must be 18+ (unarmed) or 21+ (armed).

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff and visitors by following security procedures and campus policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms and critical situations calmly and notify appropriate personnel or responders.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points and report unusual conditions, hazards or maintenance concerns.
• Document incidents and patrol activities accurately per reporting procedures.

As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol in Wilmington, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed Security Officer at an educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, campus-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate campus personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations; working environments and conditions may vary throughout the campus.
• Monitor access points and observe campus activity, reporting unusual conditions, policy violations, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Document incidents, patrol activities, and relevant observations accurately in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific reporting procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
