Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer in Sparks, NV to monitor and patrol assigned areas, deter incidents, and provide excellent customer service. The position offers a flexible schedule and opportunities to advance within a leading security services company.

Pay rate is $26.16 per hour with day and weekend shifts; prior security experience and a high school diploma are preferred. A background check and drug screening apply as required by law.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of office spaces, common areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site policies, and maintain accurate logs and incident documentation.
• Communicate professionally with site contacts, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership regarding security-related observations, incidents, and/or operational needs.
