Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Access Verification in Lansing, MI, to support patient and staff safety through access control procedures and vigilant monitoring of entrances.

You will respond to incidents, coordinate with site contacts, and perform routine patrols to ensure secure perimeters while adhering to location policies and emergency procedures.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigations conducted per federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screening as a condition of employment where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities (What You’ll Do)

• Provide customer service to staff, patients, visitors, and vendors by carrying out site‑specific access control procedures, security‑related policies, and emergency response activities appropriate to the location.
• Monitor entrances, check identification and credentials, manage visitor access, and report unauthorized or unusual activity to help support orderly access throughout the healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, including assisting with access‑related concerns, directing individuals during urgent situations, and communicating with site contacts as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, with attention to entry points, restricted areas, and other locations where security‑related concerns may arise.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
