Job summary

Allied Universal in Charleston, SC is seeking a part-time Security Officer for weekend shifts. You will provide customer service, monitor access, conduct unarmed patrols of loading areas and perimeter, and document activities using mobile tools.

This role emphasizes reliability, clear communication, and a safe environment for employees and visitors. Requirements include at least one year of security-related experience, high school diploma or equivalent, and background/drug screening as required

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Site has limited on-site facilities and may include portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background checks and drug screening are required by law where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and personnel per procedures and policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly, following escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of loading areas, distribution spaces, access points, and perimeter.
• Monitor access to the site, verify authorized entry, and report unusual activity.
• Document patrols, incidents, and observations and communicate with site leadership.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a secure environment for employees, visitors, and operations. You will provide outstanding customer service, communicate clearly, and use technology to document activity. Job Schedule:

• Sat 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM
• Sun 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of loading areas, sorting and distribution spaces, access points, parking areas, and the facility perimeter.
• Monitor access to the logistics and distribution location, verify authorized entry as directed by site procedures, and report unusual activity or access concerns.
• Document patrols, incidents, and security-related observations accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Have customer service experience preferred.
• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
