Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by federal, state and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Drug screening required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements subject to state/local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and contractors while performing security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control access to restricted areas by verifying identification and visitor authorization per site policies.
• Maintain accurate visitor, access, and incident-related records; issue and recover access credentials as authorized.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner, notifying appropriate personnel when needed.
• Conduct regular patrols of buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to identify unauthorized access and potential concerns.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or contractors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor and control access to academic, research, administrative, and other restricted areas by verifying identification, credentials, and visitor authorization in accordance with site policies.
• Maintain accurate visitor, access, and incident-related records; issue and recover access credentials as authorized.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel when needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify unauthorized access and potential concerns.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
