Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Access Control in South Portland, ME to safeguard clients across Retail/Malls and other environments while delivering professional customer service and enforcing site policies.

This part-time role offers a flexible schedule with shifts on Fri, Sat, and Sun, and access to our Claim a Shift platform to explore new opportunities within the company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Access control/badge experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a retail distribution location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility interior, exterior, parking areas, loading docks, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry for employees, vendors, and drivers, and maintain required visitor and delivery documentation.
• Report security-related incidents, hazards, and maintenance concerns promptly and accurately using site reporting procedures.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $22.28 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Fri: 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
• Sat: 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
• Sun: 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
