Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a part-time Security Officer Access Control in San Diego, CA. You will welcome visitors, verify credentials, and manage access at an aerospace/defense site.

You will provide exceptional customer service, monitor security systems, and respond to incidents in line with site procedures. A DoD Secret Clearance is required to work here.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret Clearance required.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background investigation required under applicable laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply under state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service at the front desk by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, visitor access requirements, and emergency response activities within an aerospace and defense location.
• Greet, screen, and direct employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel in accordance with established access-control procedures.
• Verify identification and credentials, maintain visitor records, issue temporary access credentials, and communicate entry requirements professionally.
• Monitor front desk communications, alarms, cameras, and access-control systems as assigned; promptly report irregularities and suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site protocols and contacting Allied Universal leadership and/or emergency services when appropriate.

What You'll Do

Minimum Requirements

• Possess an active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
