Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while carrying out access-control procedures and site policies.
• Verify identification, credentials, access authorizations, and visitor documentation; issue/collect visitor badges per site procedures.
• Monitor entry/exit points, control vehicle and pedestrian access, maintain logs, and report irregularities or suspicious activity.
• Respond to incidents, access-control alarms, and critical situations calmly following post orders and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of access points and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.

Security Officer Access Control in Portland, OR, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer supporting an aerospace and defense location. You will manage badge access, monitor entry points, conduct routine patrols, help deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.
• Verify identification, credentials, access authorizations, and visitor documentation before allowing entry to designated areas; issue and collect visitor badges in accordance with site procedures.
• Monitor entry and exit points, control vehicle and pedestrian access, maintain visitor and access logs, and report access irregularities or suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, access-control alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, surrounding business areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid are preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
