Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer Access Control in Newport Beach, CA to safeguard residents and guests at a residential community. You will monitor entry points, verify credentials, assist residents and visitors, and respond to security concerns while maintaining a welcoming environment.

The role offers a part-time schedule with opportunities to expand into other shifts through the Claim a Shift platform.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required.
• Drug screen required.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out access-control procedures and site policies.
• Monitor access points to maintain authorized entry and verify visitor credentials.
• Document guest, vendor, and delivery activity per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and security concerns in a calm, professional manner.
• Conduct patrols of common areas, parking facilities, entrances, and perimeter.
• Maintain logs and reports of access activity and incidents.

As an Access Control Security Professional at a residential community, you will help create a welcoming, secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying access credentials, assisting residents and visitors, and responding to security-related concerns. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points to help maintain authorized entry to residential areas, verify visitor credentials, and document guest, vendor, and delivery activity in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, access issues, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of residential common areas, parking facilities, building entrances, and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
• Maintain accurate logs and reports of access activity, incidents, unusual conditions, and policy violations, and promptly communicate relevant information to site leadership and/or emergency responders.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
