Job summary

Allied Universal in Columbia, SC is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Access Control) to protect government facilities. You will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor access, and respond to security concerns with calm professionalism.

You’ll provide excellent customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized guests while upholding site policies, conducting patrols, and documenting events for site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Document daily activities, access-control events, incidents, and unusual conditions accurately and promptly, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
