Responsibilities

• Respond calmly to incidents and emergencies following established procedures.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, youth residents, and/or authorized vendors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government juvenile services location.
• Control access to the facility by verifying identification, checking authorization, maintaining visitor logs, and directing individuals according to site requirements.
• Monitor entry and exit points, access-control equipment, and restricted areas; report unauthorized access attempts, damaged equipment, and unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established procedures and communicating with site leadership and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entrances, perimeter areas, and access points to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Meet DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccination requirements.
• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
