Security Officer Lobby Desk in Charleston, WV.

As a Front Desk Officer at a government location, you will be the first point of contact, helping to support access management, monitor security-related systems, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. Pay Rate: $14.25 / Hour

Job Schedule

• Day Time – Thur 12:00 AM – 08:00 AM
• Fri 12:00 AM – 08:00 AM
• Sat 12:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• Sun 12:00 AM – 12:00 PM

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Monitor front desk activity, greet visitors, verify identification and/or credentials, and guide authorized persons in accordance with site access procedures.
• Answer phones, manage visitor logs and basic front desk records, and communicate clearly with staff, guests, and/or public visitors regarding entry requirements.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through proper channels when needed.
• Observe lobby and reception areas for unusual activity and report security-related concerns, maintenance issues, and/or policy violations to appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
