Responsibilities

• Monitor entry/exit points, verify credentials, issue visitor passes, and maintain access-control logs.
• Respond calmly to alarms and incidents following emergency procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of facilities, gates, parking, and perimeter areas to identify unauthorized access.
• Communicate observations and concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision per reporting procedures.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Console in El Paso, TX, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $15.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 07:00 AM - 05:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and/or vendors while carrying out site‑specific access‑control procedures and security‑related policies at a utility location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorization, issue visitor passes, and maintain accurate access‑control logs and records.
• Respond to access‑control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned facilities, gates, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify unauthorized access or unusual conditions.
• Communicate observations, incidents, and access‑control concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision in accordance with reporting procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least two years of security‑related experience is required.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
