Allied Universal in El Paso, TX is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Operations. This role offers flexible, reliable hours at an assigned site with opportunities to pick up additional shifts to earn more.

Pay rate is $15.00 per hour. The role requires a six-month anchor shift commitment and the option to expand hours through our scheduling platform, up to 40 hours per week when available.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Alarm panel experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, a background investigation will be conducted.
• A drug screen may be required.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at a site.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of facilities, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor access to restricted areas and verify visitor/contractor authorization.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies calmly and document observations.
• Report maintenance concerns and suspicious activity observed during patrols.

Job Schedule:

Wednesday 01:45 PM - 08:00 PM, Thursday 01:45 PM - 08:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at a utility services location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of facilities, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted utility areas, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain accurate records in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
• Report maintenance concerns, hazardous conditions, suspicious activity, and other security-related issues observed during patrols in accordance with established procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
