Job summary

Securitas is seeking a Security Officer for a full-time position in Bloomington, IL. The role offers an $18.50 per hour wage and an afternoon shift, with duties including access control, patrols, and incident reporting.

You will work in a team to meet site goals, interact with staff and guests, and participate in pre-employment screenings. Comprehensive benefits and weekly pay are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• High School Diploma, GED, or ability to complete the GED within 6 months.
• Standard computer / technology skills.
• Customer service background preferred.
• Security, Law Enforcement, or Military experience a plus!
• Must be able to interact with a wide range of individuals in a calm and professional manner.
• Must be willing to participate in pre-employment screening including drug screen and background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Resolve conflicts and de-escalate when needed.
• Perform access control at security entrances / exits.
• Patrol client premises in various weather and terrains.
• Interact with client employees and guests regularly.
• Identify and report safety issues, hazardous conditions, or suspicious activity.
• Provide detailed written reports.
• Work in a team to meet site goals daily.
• Carry out similar tasks as required for the site.

Available Schedule: 2nd / Afternoon shift

What You Can Expect

• Conflict resolution and de-escalation.
• Perform access control at security entrances / exits.
• Conduct patrols inside / outside the client’s premises, potentially in various weather conditions and in different types of terrain.
• Frequent interactions with client employees and guests.
• Identify and report safety issues, hazardous conditions, or any suspicious activity.
• Provide detailed written reports.
• Work in a team environment to ensure site / organizational goals are achieved daily.
• Carry out specific tasks and duties of similar nature and scope as required for assigned site.

Basic Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.

• Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgement and use appropriate escalation.
