Job summary

Billings Clinic in Billings, Montana is seeking a Security Officer to maintain safety for staff, patients and visitors. The role supports the hospital campus operations with patrols, incident reporting and collaboration with clinical staff.

A High School diploma or GED is required, along with the ability to obtain IAHSS Basic Certification within six months and a valid Montana driver’s license. DOE starting wage applies, with full-time hours.

Qualifications

• Must obtain IAHSS Basic Certification within 6 months of appointment.
• Valid Montana driver’s license required.
• Must meet Montana Board of Private Security licensing requirements.
• Pass a drug screen and background check before employment.

Responsibilities

• Protect staff, patients, visitors and property from theft or damage and potential hazards.
• Monitor entrances and exits during emergencies; support safety operations.
• Maintain public relations and professional demeanor with visitors and staff.
• Escort staff and patients as needed; provide safe, empathetic care in patient interactions.
• Investigate incidents and prepare reports on accidents and suspicious activities.
• Perform patrols and inspect security devices and fire protection equipment.
• Comply with Billings Clinic policies and safety standards.

Starting Wage DOE: 18.74 - 23.43

Our healthcare security team is responsible for maintaining the security and safety for all at Billings Clinic which includes hospital staff, patients and visitors. Security Officers will be assigned specific areas of responsibility and are expected to deter illegal activities on hospital property while positively contributing to the overall patient experience through a customer service approach. The Billings Clinic Security Officers will provide an empathetic, safe approach to managing patient aggression and supervision of at-risk patients in the hospital environment.

Essential Job Functions

• Supports and models behaviors consistent with BillingsClinic’s mission, vision, values, code of business conduct and serviceexpectations. Meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements.Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agencystandards as it relates to the environment, employee, patient safety or jobperformance.
• Protect staff, patients, visitors, and property fromtheft or damage, or persons from hazards or interference, including thepotential for violence in the workplace
• Ensure proper physical security is maintained at alllocations of the Billings Clinic Campus
• Maintains and displays good public relations skills wheninteracting with visitors and staff
• Monitors entrances and exits during Emergency ManagementSituations to include Flood Control
• Prevent unapproved or unlawful entry in conjunctionwith Patients Plan of Care
• Assist Clinical staff in managing patient care throughAEGIS taught applications
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents,and suspicious activities
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering,smoking or carrying forbidden articles
• Makes periodic patrols to check for irregularities andto inspect protection devices and fire control equipment
• Transport or Escort Staff and Patients as needed
• Performs all other duties as assigned or as needed tomeet the needs of the department/organization.

Minimum Qualifications

Certifications and Licenses

• IAHSS BasicCertification completed within six (6) months of appointment.
• Mustmaintain valid Mt State Driver’s License.
• Must be able to meet and continue to meet requirementsof the Montana Board of Private Security to be license as a Security Officer.
• Be able to pass a drug screen.
• Successfully pass a background check that includespersonal references, DMV check criminal history, employment and educationverification, and DMV check
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experiencerelating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered
