Job summary

Stlcitycircuitcourt is seeking an armed security officer to support the Family Court - Juvenile Division under the Security Supervisor. The role covers internal and external security, reception, patrols, and coordination with court units to maintain safety.

Qualified candidates must be licensed Armed Private Security Officers (or eligible), carry a firearm on duty, pass a pre-employment physical, and undertake annual training.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as Armed Private Security Officer or able to obtain license and carry firearm on duty.
• Must pass pre-employment physical; may require periodic physicals.
• Must provide own handgun and maintain court-provided uniforms with uniform allowance.
• Able to stand for long periods and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to work rotating or flexible hours.
• Two years of paid security experience in a related field.
• Experience with x-ray, video surveillance, and metal detection equipment preferred.
• Criminal justice or law enforcement courses strongly preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; must be twenty-one years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day security for Family Court - Juvenile Division including internal and external security.
• Perform reception services and assist various units within Juvenile Division.
• Conduct building and grounds patrols and respond to security incidents.
• Collaborate with Security Supervisor and other court staff to maintain safety.

POSITION DEFINITION: An armed security officer working under the supervision of the Security Supervisor. This person is responsible for providing day-to-day security needs at the Family Court - Juvenile Division, including internal and external security, reception services, building and grounds patrol, and assistance to the various units of the Juvenile Division.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a Licensed Armed Private Security Officer by the Metropolitan licensing body or be able to obtain a license in the classification of Armed Private Security Officer and be able to carry a firearm while on duty and participate in training on an annual basis. Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and may be required to pass a physical every other year. Must provide his/her own handgun. Must be able to maintain court provided uniforms with a uniform allowance. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions. Must be able to work rotating or flexible hours. Two years of paid security work in a related field. Prefer experience in the use and operation of x-ray, video surveillance metal detection equipment. Courses in criminal justice or law enforcement strongly preferred. Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent. Must be twenty-one years of age.
