Job summary

Providence Swedish Medical Center Ballard Campus is seeking a Security Officer to maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The role involves random patrols, incident response, hazard reporting and documenting observations during each shift.

Required: BLS within 90 days, TASER and AVADE/HDTS training within 6 months, and customer service experience. Preferred: associate degree and 1 year security or healthcare security experience.

Qualifications

• Within 90 days of hire: Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (Facility Managed)
• Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Successful completion of TASER Training - annual re-certification (Facility Managed)
• Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Successful completion of AVADE/HDTS (Healthcare Defensive Tactics System) Training (Facility Managed)
• Customer service experience and/or training

Description

The Security Officer provides a safe and secure environment for the patients, visitors, staff and property of Swedish Medical Center/Swedish Edmonds. Due to the continuous public contact of the position the highest level of customer service skills is essential. Security Officers conduct random patrols of Swedish Medical Center/Swedish Edmond property, respond to and investigate security incidents, report safety hazards, and appropriately document actions and observations made during the shift.

Required Qualifications:
