Job summary

PGS USA seeks a Security Officer in Seattle, WA to maintain a professional presence, monitor entrances, and respond to security incidents. The role requires a Washington security license, strong communication, and the ability to work under pressure. You will document incidents, collaborate with authorities, and ensure compliance with state regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Security License in Washington.
• Prior security, law enforcement, or related field preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in high-stress environments with professionalism and sound judgement.
• Background check and drug screening required.
• Minimum of five (3) years of security experience or former law enforcement with honorable discharge, or military service with honorable discharge.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible and professional presence to deter illegal activities and ensure safety of personnel, visitors, and property.
• Monitor and authorize entrance while following proper procedure.
• Comply with standard operating procedures for the Client.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms.
• Use excellent customer service and communication skills to deescalate tense or potentially violent situations.
• Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
• Accurately document and report incidents, activities, and observations using company-approved forms and protocols.
• Inspect the premises for security risks, hazards, or violations and report findings.
• Comply with all state regulations, including maintaining current unarmed security licensure in Washington.

Key Responsibilities:

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Must be capable of functioning independently and remaining calm in high-pressure or intense situations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Security License in the state of Washington.
• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in high-stress environments while demonstrating professionalism and sound judgment.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• Possess a minimum of five (3) years of security experience orBe a former law enforcement officer with a demonstrated record of professional conduct and positive performance; orHave prior military service with an Honorable Discharge. Candidates must be able to provide documentation verifying their qualifications upon request.
• Primary post will be at one of our Seattle locations.
