Job summary

Platinum Group Security (PGSUSA) is seeking a Security Officer on a seasonal basis in Houston, TX. You will maintain a professional presence, monitor access points, greet staff and visitors, and patrol the premises to deter threats and ensure safety.

A Texas Level 2 security license is required or eligibility to obtain one. Join a team focused on protection, customer service, and reliable security solutions across the region.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid Level 2 Security License in Texas, or eligibility to obtain one.
• Background check and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible and professional presence to deter illegal activities and ensure safety of personnel, visitors, and property.
• Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates.
• Provide exceptional customer service and greet employees and visitors.
• Patrol property on golf cart; observe and report any suspicious activity.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms.
• Use excellent customer service and communication skills to deescalate tense situations.
• Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
• Accurately document and report incidents, activities, and observations using company-approved forms.
• Inspect premises for security risks and report findings to appropriate personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a visible and professional presence to deter illegal activities and ensure the safety of personnel, visitors, and property.
• Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates.
• Provide exceptional customer service and greet employees and visitors.
• Patrol property on golf cart; observe and report any suspicious activity.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms.
• Use excellent customer service and communication skills to deescalate tense or potentially violent situations.
• Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
• Accurately document and report incidents, activities, and observations using company-approved forms and protocols.
• Inspect the premises for security risks, hazards, or violations and report findings to the appropriate personnel.
• Comply with all state regulations, including maintaining current unarmed security license in Texas.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods (minimum of 1 hour).
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Must be capable of functioning independently and remaining calm in high-pressure or intense situations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Level 2 Security License in the state of Texas (or eligibility to obtain one).
• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in high-stress environments while demonstrating professionalism and sound judgment.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• Primary post will be at one of our facilities in Houston Texas, requiring work in an indoor and/or outdoor environment.
