Job summary

PGSUSA in Arlington, VA is seeking an Armed Security Officer to maintain a visible, professional presence and deter threats while protecting people and property.

You will respond to incidents, deescalate tense situations using strong communication, document activities, and coordinate with law enforcement as needed. A valid Washington DC security license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior security, law enforcement, military, or related field experience preferred.
• Must pass a background check and drug test screening.
• Must have a security license to work in the Washington, D.C. area.

• Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a visible and professional presence to deter illegal activities and ensure the safety of personnel, visitors, and property.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms.
• Use excellent customer service and communication skills to deescalate tense or potentially violent situations.
• Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
• Accurately document and report incidents, activities, and observations using company-approved forms and protocols.
• Inspect the premises for security risks, hazards, or violations and report findings to the appropriate personnel.
• Comply with all state regulations, including maintaining current armed security licensure in Washington D.C.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods (minimum of 1 hour).
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Must be capable of functioning independently and remaining calm in high-pressure or intense situations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in high-stress environments while demonstrating professionalism and sound judgment.
• Must pass a background check and drug test screening.

Must have a security license to work in the Washington, D.C area.

Must be able to work and 1 extra shift each week that could be night shift.
