Job summary

The Courtyard Rocky Mount is seeking a full-time third shift Security Guard to join our Security team at our StepStone Hospitality managed hotel. You will patrol and monitor hotel premises to protect employees and guests, deter vandalism, theft, and other incidents, and respond to emergencies with a calm and professional approach.

Requirements include availability for third shift, one year of security experience, a high school diploma, and familiarity with surveillance systems.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and physical fitness required.
• 1 year customer service experience preferred.
• 1 year security experience required and proven record in patrolling.
• Knowledge of safety and public security guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Patrol lobby, corridors and common areas to deter disturbances.
• Confer with management, interview guests and staff on infringements.
• Check public areas for fires and safety equipment and report issues.
• Warn or eject troublemakers and assist in emergencies.
• Notify staff of suspicious persons and incidents.
• Respond to guest requests and resolve issues courteously.

Description

The Courtyard by Marriott Hotel is currently seeking a full-time third shift Security Guard to join our Security team at our StepStone Hospitality managed hotel. The security guard assists in proper building security patrol and surveillance of hotel premises in effort to protect employees as well as hotel guests. The position is responsible for detecting suspicious behavior and preventing vandalism, thefts or criminal behavior.

Scheduled hours will be Tuesday to Saturday overnight Weekdays, weekends, and holidays are required.

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, physical dexterity and an active sense of curiosity about the world around them.

Responsibilities

• Patrol lobby, corridors, and common areas.
• Confer with management, interview guests, associates, and others to detect infringements, disturbances, complaints, theft, vandalism, etc.
• Patrol public areas to detect fires, unsafe conditions, and damaged or inoperative safety equipment.
• Warn or eject troublemakers and caution careless persons.
• Obtain assistance for accident victims and file accident reports.
• Notify staff of presence of persons with questionable reputations.
• Assist management and enforcement officers in emergency situations.
• Enter and check rooms of guests suspected of nonpayment of bill to confirm suspicions and remove remaining personal property.
• Establish and supervise operational procedures for activities such as fire prevention and fighting, traffic control, guarding and patrolling physical property, orienting and monitoring personnel involved with classified information, and investigation of accidents and criminal acts.
• Respond and resolve guest requests, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely manner
