Job summary

Colonial Downs Group LLC in Richmond, VA, is hiring a Security Officer to provide high levels of guest service while protecting the property and patrons. The role requires patrolling, incident reporting, enforcing rules, and responding to security incidents inside and outside the facility.

This position offers $17.00 per hour and requires the ability to communicate in English, prior customer service or security experience, and the willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of guest service to all guests, Team Members, and vendors.
• Ensure the safety of all guests and Team Members of the property.
• Record investigation and incident reports in a timely manner.
• Assist with the transfer of money throughout the property.
• Patrol the property during shift to ensure safety.
• Enforce property rules set by the Company and the Virginia Racing Commission.
• Stand posts in various locations for extended times as assigned.
• Control and diffuse potential problems and assist Team Members and guests in emergencies.
• Control access to the property and restricted areas.
• Respond to calls for assistance immediately.
• Maintain radio contact with base during assigned shift.
• Check identification for gaming floor admittance, greeting guests and vendors professionally.
• Maintain crowd control, ensuring a friendly environment and defusing guest incidents.
• Compose written reports and report procedural violations and illegal activity.
• Report to supervisor/manager on day-to-day activities.
• Attend periodic meetings and training sessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for providing a high level of guest service to all guests, team members, and vendors. Responsiblefor ensuring the safety and security of the property and its patrons. Responds to Security incidents and provides a visible securitypresence inside and outside of the facility. Observes patrons participating in gambling activities to detect and respond to infractionsof house rules. Will maintain a high level of professionalism, customer service, and integrity while representing the Company in allinteractions with guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of one (1) year experience in customer service, law enforcement, military, or security, or pursuing a degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, or a related field. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
• Basic computer skills required, such as knowledge of Word and ability to learn and utilize menu-driven programs.
• Must obtain valid racing license, where applicable.
• May be required to hold a valid driver’s license with a minimum of three year’s driving experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

• While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is frequently required to sit or stand for extended amounts of time; walk for extended amounts of time; use hands to finger, reach, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.The Team Member may also be required to lift, push, and pull up to 25 lbs.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
• Team Member will be subject to an environment with flashing lights.
