Job summary

Campbell University is seeking a Security Officer for the Main Campus in Campus Safety. This is a part-time, year-round position with Friday/Saturday and Sunday evening shifts.

The role involves patrolling, monitoring security systems, assisting visitors, and enforcing campus policies. Candidates should have a high school diploma, possibly a NC driver’s license, and be able to pass a physical examination. non-sworn position.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Patrol interior and exterior facilities to secure property.
• Monitor surveillance cameras, alarms, and access control systems.
• Guard against fire, theft, and hazards; report violations.
• Provide information and assistance to visitors.
• Operate and maintain security equipment.
• Adhere to Campbell University policies including Title IX, HIPAA, FERPA.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional appearance.
• Be flexible with hours and duties as needed.

Position: Security Officer - Campbell University- Main Campus

Department: Campus Safety

Status: Part-Time

**Shift hoursscheduled for thisposition: Friday/Saturday: 4:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m. and Sunday 5:00 p.m. -10:00 p.m.

**This is a regularly scheduled year-round part-time position, not seasonal**

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work involves securing, guarding, and protecting property and grounds by patrolling the interior and exterior of facilities via footor other modes of transport and by monitoring activities using surveillance cameras, alarm panels, card access, or other electronic security systems.
• Work includes guarding property against fire, damage, theft, or other hazards; monitoring assigned areas for possible violation of policies, regulations, and rules of conduct; recognizing and reporting unusual, suspicious, or hazardous situations.
• Will be required to provide information and assistance to building visitors, including the public.
• Responsible foroperating and maintaining security and enforcement equipment.
• Uphold and abide byall Campbell University policies and procedures, including but not limited to; Title IX and Information Securityincluding, but not limited to,HIPAA,FERPA, and other state and federal mandates.
• Position requires strictconfidentiality and discretion in the course of conducting business.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
• Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Education/Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalency and demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
• Some positions may require a valid NC driver's license.
• Satisfactory completion of a physical will be required.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• Work requires knowledge of the standard safety and security; basic knowledge of standard methods of reporting and handling emergencies such as disturbances, fires, medical and security threats; knowledge of applicable policies, rules, and regulations.
• Must be able to work independently, as well as function effectively within a team environment.
• Capable of exercising good judgment in complex and new situations
• Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, and courtesy in dealing with faculty, staff, students, high-level university officials, and the public.
• Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to work in a changing environment.

Other Information:

Assignments and hours may vary and are dependent on the needs andhours of operation ofCampbell University. Occasionally these hours may be on holidays.
This is a non-sworn Security position, not law enforcement.
