George Washington’s Mount Vernon is hiring full-time security officers (in training) to support visitor safety, estate security, and customer service across its historic grounds and buildings. The role includes indoor and outdoor duties with paid training and a comprehensive benefits package.

Pay begins at $18.00/hour, increasing to $20.00 after completing SCOP training. Hours are 40 per week with overtime available.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years old.
• Virginia D.C.J.S. SCOP registration required; Fairfax County endorsement preferred
• Previous security/SCOP experience preferred
• Must pass thorough background investigation by Fairfax County Police
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving and police records
• Flexibility to work weekends/holidays and non-traditional hours

Position Overview

Compensation & Schedule

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience: Previous security/SCOP experience preferred
• Background: Must pass thorough background investigation by Fairfax County Police
• License: Valid driver’s license with clean driving and police records
• Skills: Excellent verbal/written communication, incident report writing, customer service, calm decision-making under pressure
• Flexibility: Ability to work weekends/holidays and non-traditional hours
