Job summary

Bryan Health seeks a dedicated security professional to monitor its East and West Campuses, protecting patients, visitors, staff and providers while delivering courteous service. You will welcome guests, determine needs, and direct or escort them to the correct locations within the facility.

Responsibilities include patrolling on foot or by vehicle, de-escalating conflicts, inspecting equipment, screening entrants, and responding to emergencies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in healthcare security preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Completion of Management of Assaultive Behaviors training within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Observe for signs of crime, disorder, hazard, and unusual activity.
  • Respond to calls for escorts, transport, disturbances, and security/medical assistance.

  • De-escalate conflicts verbally and physically when needed and direct individuals off-site.
  • Inspect security devices and fire control equipment.
  • Screen patients, visitors, staff, and providers for admission and weapons screening.
  • Respond to emergencies (fire, medical, bomb threats, weather) with calm urgency.
  • Prepare logs and reports for investigations and leadership review.
  • Identify and report security risks affecting service delivery.
  • Assist with vehicle jump starts, tire inflation, and accident investigation.
  • Assist with helicopter arrivals/departures, including landing pad prep and escort.

GENERAL SUMMARY

Responsible for the surveillance of Bryan Medical Center East and West Campuses and the protection of the patients, visitors, staff, and providers. Detects and prevents any suspicious activity, observe and reports incidents, and provides customer service in a friendly and professional manner. Welcomes guests, determines individual needs and responds appropriately. Responsible for arranging for or providing direction/way-finding information or escort/transport to appropriate locations in the facility.

PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Observe and remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazard, and unusual activity
  • Responds to all calls for a variety of services to include but not limited to: escorts, property pickup, disturbances, and security/medical assist calls.
  • Patrol on foot or via a vehicle to check for unsafe conditions, blocked entryways, security violations, mechanical problems, and unauthorized individuals.
  • Verbally and physically de-escalating individuals, as needed; direct persons causing a disturbance to exit the property in a calm and respectful manner.
  • Inspect all security devices and fire control equipment
  • Screen patients, visitors, staff, and providers to expedite their admittance to the facility (to include weapons detection screening and HID Safe Visitation software).
  • Respond to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, or inclement weather with calm urgency.
  • Prepare logs and investigative reports, as required, by writing, typing, or entering accurate information that can be easily interpreted by fellow officers, supervisors, and leaders.
  • Identify, educate, manage, and report security risks impacting service delivery.
  • Assists with vehicle jump starts and tire inflation, vehicle wayfinding, and initial accident investigation.
  • Assist with helicopter arrival and departure, including preparation of the landing pad and escort of personnel.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience working in a healthcare or other related security setting preferred. Valid driver's license required. Verification and maintenance of responsible driving record per facility standards required. Completion of Management of Assaultive Behaviors training within six (6) months of hire.
