Job summary

UPMC Kane Security is seeking a full-time Security Officer to help maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff. The role requires holiday and weekend availability and a PA Act 235 certification.

You will monitor access, provide customer service, inspect parcels, and respond to incidents, coordinating with responders as needed. The position offers Total Rewards and a $1,500 sign-on bonus for eligible teammates, with opportunities for career ladder growth.

Responsibilities

• Staff fixed posts to monitor access to secured areas and ensure safety protocols.
• Provide customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff, enhancing security and peace of mind.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing parcels to prevent theft and ensure safe transport.
• Respond to and resolve disputes, problems, and unusual circumstances promptly.
• Maintain required certifications and licenses to remain compliant with regulations.
• Assist with traffic control and vehicle support to ensure smooth operations.
• Transport deceased individuals to the Morgue and release bodies as needed.
• Monitor security, fire, and environmental alarms, responding to emergencies and coordinating with appropriate personnel.
