Job summary

Dunbar Security Solutions in Harrisonburg, VA is seeking a Security Officer to help maintain a safe and secure shopping environment for customers and employees. The officer will monitor activity and respond to security alarms while delivering professional customer service.

This full-time position covers 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts with pay at $18.50 per hour, and a benefits package including medical, life, vision insurance, paid vacation, and retirement plans.

Responsibilities

• Monitor activity to ensure a safe environment for customers and employees.
• Observe visitor and employee behavior for suspicious activity and report concerns to management.
• Respond to exit door alarms and verify receipts when alarms are activated.
• Conduct routine patrols throughout the building and surrounding areas to identify potential security concerns.
• Document incidents, suspicious activity, and security concerns in written reports.
• Work closely with store management and staff to address safety or security issues.
• Provide professional customer service while enforcing store policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
