Job summary

The Center for Discovery is seeking a Security Officer to ensure agency-wide safety and security, enforcing traffic policies for employees and visitors. The role requires liaising with local law enforcement, responding to emergencies, monitoring the security network, and performing inspections.

Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and holidays is essential, with training up to six months. Candidates must be at least 21, hold a NYS Driver License, High School diploma/GED, and NYS Security

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years old.
• Must have a valid, unexpired Guard Card.
• High School diploma or GED; NYS Driver License in good standing; NYS Security License.

Responsibilities

• Provide agency-wide safety and security coverage.

The Center for Discovery is currently seeking a Security Officer. The Security Officer will provide agency-wide safety and security coverage by enforcing employee/visitor compliance with agency vehicle traffic policies. This position will act as a liaison with local law enforcement and security agencies, responds to agency related emergencies, monitors communication network and conducts safety and security inspections. Position requires flexibility to attend special events.

Must be able to work an extremely flexible schedule to include weekends, nights, and holidays. Must have open availability during initial training period which can last up to six (6) Months. Must be at least 21, have a high school diploma/GED, a NYS Driver license in good standing and a NYS Security License.

Experience preferred
