Job summary

Valor is seeking a Security Specialist to safeguard hotel assets, guests and staff. You will patrol buildings and exterior areas, respond to security concerns, and document incidents following established procedures.

The role requires physical stamina, strong communication, and aptitude with reporting software. Responsibilities include investigating incidents, maintaining access control, and supporting related operations.

POSITION PROFILE

Search for, respond to and handle any security problems, issues, concerns and disaster emergency situations in accordance with all policies, procedures and regulations to ensure the safety & security of the hotel's assets, guests, and associates.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIES

• Patrol all areas of the hotel property including outside parking lots.
• Note, search for, handle and report any unusual circumstances, safety violations, car theft, destruction and/or suspicious or undesirable persons and escort off property, if necessary.
• Document a concise security report on a daily log including incidents of theft, accidents and safety violations.
• Complete the necessary security forms to document losses of property or personal injury to guest or associate.
• Conduct investigations of security incidents.
• Maintain familiarity of all hotel disaster and emergency policies, procedures and regulations; respond immediately to emergency alarms or calls for help, determine course of action, notify appropriate authorities and perform first aid and CPR as needed.
• Maintain security of hotel key system; issue and receive keys.
• Escort and witness cash handling transitions as needed.
• Assist in shipping and receiving operations.
• Enforce the No Solicitation Policy of the hotel.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Strong knowledge of hotel layout and life safety systems. Ability to perform physical tasks such as walking, standing, and potentially lifting objects. Proficiency in using computers for report writing and data entry. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and de-escalation skills. High school diploma or equivalent is often required. Communicate information, respond to question, and provide directions and hotel services to guests, vendors, staff member and management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to walk the property in inclement weather Lift, pull, push, bend, and move items to support the hotel and outlets.
