Securitas is seeking a Security Officer in Burlington, IA to maintain a safe and secure environment by monitoring premises, controlling access, and patrolling client sites. The role pays $19.00/hr and requires 18+, a GED or high school diploma, and strong customer service skills.

The position involves de-escalation, reporting issues, and following post orders, with 12‑hour shifts and weekend work expected. Pre-employment screens apply, including background checks and drug testing.

Qualifications

• Security, Law Enforcement, or Military experience a plus.
• Excellent customer service and team leadership skills needed.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be able to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
• Must have great attention to detail and remain vigilant throughout the shift.
• Must have a professional demeanor.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgment and use appropriate escalation.
• All candidates must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre‑employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
• Must be able to work weekends and 12‑hour shifts.
• Valid driver's license required for driver certification.
• Must be able to work in various weather conditions.

The Security Officer helps maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including access control and patrolling a variety of locations. They preserve order while enforcing regulations and directives for our client sites pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area.
