Job summary

Securitas Security Services USA, Inc. in Independence, Missouri, is seeking a Security Officer to monitor premises, control access, patrol sites, and maintain safety.

This full-time role emphasizes professionalism, vigilance, and a strong customer-service mindset to protect clients and visitors. You will work with client staff, follow post orders, report hazards, use security technology, and respond calmly in emergencies.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work independently.
• Excellent customer service and team leadership skills.
• Must have great attention to detail and remain vigilant throughout shift.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgment and use appropriate escalation.
• All candidates must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
• Will need to acquire Independence Commission Card.

Responsibilities

• Conflict resolution and de-escalation.
• Frequent interactions with client employees and guests.
• Identify and report safety issues, hazardous conditions, or any suspicious activity.
• Ensure that all post orders are followed and assigned rounds are completed.
• Provide customer service and information to the client’s employees and guests.
• Utilizing technology devices throughout shift.
• Conduct tours of the property.
• Carry out specific tasks and duties of similar nature and scope as required for assigned site.

Security Officer - Full Time

Primary Location: Independence, MO

Wage: $20.18/HR

The Security Officer helps maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including access control and patrolling a variety of locations. They preserve order while enforcing regulations and directives for our client sites pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area.

Basic Requirements

• 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Above average computer / technology skills needed.
• Security, Law Enforcement, or Military experience a plus.
• Excellent customer service and team leadership skills needed.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be able to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
• Must have great attention to detail and remain vigilant throughout shift.
• Must have a professional demeanor.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgment and use appropriate escalation.
