Job summary

Dunbar Security Solutions is seeking a responsible Security Officer to support residential property management in Bethesda, MD. The role focuses on maintaining a secure environment for residents, visitors, and staff through active patrols and monitoring access.

The ideal candidate holds an active Maryland security guard certification and demonstrates clear communication, vigilance, and the ability to follow procedures. 40 hours per week on a Tue–Sat schedule.

Qualifications

• Active Maryland security guard certification (guard card) is required.
• Clear, professional communication with residents, visitors, and property personnel.
• Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
• Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prepare accurate reports and communicate incidents promptly.
• Dependable attendance and availability to work the Tuesday – Saturday schedule.

Responsibilities

• Complete scheduled foot patrols of designated buildings and outdoor areas to identify unusual activity or security concerns
• Monitor surveillance systems and activity around the property
• Inspect entrances, exits, and access points to help prevent unauthorized access
• Follow established entry procedures when assisting residents, visitors, and authorized individuals
• Recognize and report suspicious behavior, property damage, safety hazards, and rule violations
• Activate alarms and request assistance when incidents require an immediate response
• Address individuals who violate property procedures calmly and professionally, following applicable policies and laws
• Document daily observations, patrol findings, unusual occurrences, and incidents in accurate written reports
• Obtain witness information and signatures when required for incident documentation
• Observe building conditions and report concerns with equipment, access controls, or other property systems
• Keep property management and supervisors informed of important developments
• Perform other related duties as assigned
