Responsibilities

• Perform patrol, security, emergency response and customer service duties at the assigned location.
• Greet and log visitors and vendors at the gate, direct them to destinations and enforce policies.
• Conduct frequent patrols, inspect equipment and report damages to Maintenance.
• Surveil locations for vandalism or crime and respond with proper procedures.
• Assist in emergencies with police, fire, and medical units; provide basic medical response.

Where You Will Work

Chino is an open-pit copper mining complex located 15 miles from the historic mining community of Silver City in southwestern New Mexico. The historic Chino mine was among the world's first low-grade, open-pit copper mines. Today, the operation consists of a 36,000-metric-ton-per-day concentrator that produces copper and a 150-million-pound-per-year solvent extraction/electrowinning plant that produces copper cathode from solution generated by run-of-mine leaching.

What You Will Do

• Perform a variety of patrol, security, emergency response and customer service duties at assigned location.
• Greet and log in all visitors and vendors at entrance gate
  • Notify appropriate personnel or department of arrival
  • Direct visitors and vendors to destination
  • Enforce company policies and procedures
• Perform frequent patrols of the property
  • Walk, bicycles, or drives vehicle on irregularly scheduled rounds of property
  • Observe conditions of equipment, grounds and facilities
  • Pick up litter or debris as needed, or arranges clean-up with maintenance crews
  • Report damages or areas in need of repair to the Maintenance Supervisor
• Conduct surveillance of locations or areas in which vandalism or criminal activities have been noted
• Assist with and trained for emergency situations
  • Collaborate with police officers in the prevention of crime
  • Work with fire response units for fire suppression, and with medical emergency response units in the event of emergency situations, at the assigned location
• Provide basic emergency medical response (e.g. performs CPR, gives basic first aid) when needed
• Perform other duties as required

What You Bring To Freeport

• Current CPR and first aid certifications, as required by specific site location
• Skilled in responding appropriately to emergency and conflict situations
• Knowledge of site rules, regulations, policies and procedures
• Knowledgeable of the site topography and locations of emergency equipment and access points
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED

What We Offer You

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $16.50 - $22.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
