Job summary

First Coast Security is seeking an Unarmed Security Officer to monitor entrances, patrol sites, and respond to safety concerns on site in Altoona, IA. This role emphasizes presence, alertness, and customer service for employees, visitors, and contractors.

Training is provided to obtain state-required licenses and CPR certification. Applicants must meet licensing, background, and fitness requirements and be authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain an Unarmed Professional Security License as required by state.
• Must be able to obtain a First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
• Must be able to pass a drug screening, driving record check and background check.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be at least 18 years old or 21+ for driving positions.
• Proficient English language communication, reading, and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patrols and monitor all access points, interior and exterior.
• Stand guard at assigned posts to maintain visibility and site security.
• Observe and report hazards or suspicious activity and complete daily logs and incident reports.
• Respond quickly to emergencies or threats.
• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance at all times.

• Able to meet all physical demands, including occasional lifting (up to 40 lbs.), and performing tasks such as bending, climbing, running, walking, and standing for long periods of time as needed
• Previous security, customer service, military, or law enforcement experience is helpful but not required
