Job summary

Atlas Search is seeking a hands-on Security Master Business Analyst (Consultant) to join the Data Services team in New York City. You will gather requirements, profile and validate securities data, and drive testing and validation across implementation phases.

The role sits at the intersection of business and technology, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and governance throughout the project lifecycle. A strong SQL and Excel background is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a business/data analyst in financial services.
• Direct experience with security master data and related workflows (security setup, reference data maintenance, pricing, or classification).
• Strong hands-on SQL for large datasets.
• Advanced Excel with pivots, lookups, and large-scale data comparison.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Gather and document business and functional requirements from stakeholders.
• Perform data analysis to profile, reconcile, and validate securities reference data across sources.
• Define and execute test plans, test cases, and validation scripts.
• Document current and future-state data flows, mappings, and business rules.
• Identify data quality issues and partner with tech to remediate.
• Support data migration and cutover activities.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve data mapping issues.
• Prepare status reports for stakeholders and senior management.
• Contribute to ongoing data governance and quality standards.
