Arizona Department of Health Services in Phoenix seeks a Security Officer Lead to supervise Security Officer I staff, provide training, and act as Specialist-in-Charge when needed. The role focuses on safety, post coverage, and responding to emergencies while supporting hospital operations.

Ideal candidates will have strong leadership, emergency response experience, and excellent communication skills to maintain a secure environment for patients and staff across shifts.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal and state safety and security laws.
• Ability to lead and supervise security staff.
• Experience with emergency response and hospital codes.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience in training staff and developing guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Trains Security staff one-on-one, ensuring post safety and compliance.
• Supervises Security Officer I staff and assists in interviews and staffing.
• Communicates with hospital staff and management; supports a therapeutic environment.
• Prepares administrative guidelines and resolves staff-related issues.
• Serves as Shift Commander in absence of supervisor; ensures shift coverage.
