Job summary

The Arizona Department of Health Services is seeking a Security Officer Lead to oversee a team of Security Officer I staff at the Phoenix facility. Under supervision, you will train, mentor, and coordinate post safety, respond to emergencies, and ensure compliance with hospital rules and codes.

You will act as Shift Commander in absence of supervisors, supervise daily operations, and support a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal and state safety and security laws relevant to hospital settings.
• Ability to apply restraints and manage emergencies.
• Experience with incident documentation and reports.
• CPR certification and training in safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Trains Security staff one-on-one and ensures post safety competence.
• Supervises assigned Officers and ensures policy compliance.
• Acts as Specialist-in-Charge when needed and coordinates shift operations.
• Handles administrative guidelines and problem solving.
• Responds to hospital emergencies and codes.
• Maintains liaison with staff, patients, and law enforcement.
