Job summary

Neurophos is seeking an experienced Security Lead to design, build, and defend our cloud, network, and system infrastructure. You will own the security posture, implement zero-trust boundaries, and lead vulnerability programs in a fast-growing AI hardware startup.

You will be the senior security voice from day one, balancing hands-on execution with governance. Expect to work across Sunnyvale and Austin as needed, and to help grow a small security function over time.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in security engineering, infrastructure security, or cybersecurity leadership.
• Hands-on ownership of a SIEM/EDR stack end-to-end.
• Demonstrated ownership of IAM/PAM architecture in a modern IdP (Okta or equivalent).
• Direct experience leading at least one SOC 2 Type II audit cycle.
• Direct experience running vendor security assessments and responding to security questionnaires.
• Knowledge of export control frameworks (ITAR/EAR).
• Public cloud experience, ideally Azure.
• Willingness to build and lead a small security function over time.

Responsibilities

• Design and defend Neurophos's core cloud, network, and system infrastructure against external threats.
• Own the architectural security posture and implement zero-trust network boundaries.
• Manage vulnerability and threat detection programs.
• Serve as primary incident commander during security events and conduct root-cause analyses.
• Lead security discussions with customers and investors.
• Conduct vendor risk assessments for third-party tools.
• Support SOC 2 Type II certification with external auditors.
• Collaborate with General Counsel on secure data handling and export controls.
