Job summary

Kith Sunset is seeking a Security Lead in West Hollywood to partner with the Head of Security and the General Manager on safety and store operations. This full-time role focuses on protecting staff and customers and ensuring smooth daily retail functions.

The ideal candidate monitors entrances, manages crowds, and supports product releases with a strong emphasis on de-escalation and clear communication. A valid state security license and relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Valid State Security Guard License/Certificate or Guard Card required.
• 2-3 years in Security; 1-3 years in a customer-facing environment; 2-3 years in Loss Prevention preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor entrance(s) of store and manage traffic.
• Check employee coats and bags upon entry/exit.
• Handle violations and ensure safety of guests, employees, and property.
• Observe sales floor for potential theft and fraud.
• Provide supervisory support to Head of Security/GM and security guards.
• Assist with crowd management and crisis response as needed.
• Perform housekeeping and standard retail tasks.
• Manage lines/crowds outside the store and assist product releases.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Location: West Hollywood

Store Status: Full-time

Compensation: $28-$30 hr

Position Summary: The Kith Security Lead acts in partnership with the Head of Security and/or the General Manager on overall security responsibilities.

The Security Lead is imperative in the daily functions of the store’s retail operations.

The individual is professional, aware, and detail oriented within the retail space.

Ensuring the safety of store staff and customers through diligent monitoring of the sales floor and entrance(s).

Continuously contributes to the seamless operations of the store by managing any lines that form outside the store and helping in the execution of any product releases.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor entrance(s) of store, while managing traffic in and out of the store
• Check employee coats and bags upon entry & exit
• Handles undesired conduct, violations of building policy and civil laws as warranted for the security and safety of guests, employees, patrons, and property
• Observe sales floor for potential theft and fraud
• Provides supervisory level support to Head of Security and/or General Manager, in overall management of both in-house and third-party security guards
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Manage any lines/crowds that form outside of the store
• Provide support to both guests and team members in any safety, crowd management or crisis response situations
• Ensure the store is compliant with any building/city/state or federal ordinance regarding crowds inside and outside of the store
• Assist store management team with housekeeping responsibilities including but not limited to, dusting, sweeping, collection of trash, and other tasks traditionally associated with standard retail operations.

Special Projects/Tasks:

• Assist in the execution of any in-store product releases, by managing and monitoring of crowds/lines formed prior and during regular store operating hours
• Follow the direction of Head of Security or General Manager in any emergency situations

REQUIREMENTS

Availability: Open & flexible availability, including but not limited to evenings, overnights, and weekends as well as Holidays. Availability to consistently work weekends, special projects, drops/releases or as the business’ needs require.

Licenses/Certificates: Valid State Security Guard License/Certificate, or Guard Card is required

Experience: 2-3 years as Security 2-3 years in Loss Prevention preferred but not required 1-3 years in a customer facing environment 1+ years in a Retail/Apparel environment

Skills/Abilities: Effective communication with both internal and external customers Crowd management Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time Ability to de-escalate conflicts Ability to lift and move 25lbs. Ability to perform standard tasks that are related to retail operations including but not limited to, bending, twisting, and climbing ladders/step stools. Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
