Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a hands-on installation leader to guide our Alaska project teams. You will plan, coordinate, and execute installation projects from kickoff to completion, installing and commissioning access control, CCTV, and burglar alarm systems.

Relocation assistance is offered for qualified candidates. In this role you will mentor field crews, ensure safety and quality, manage schedules, and maintain strong customer communications to deliver successful projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated programming aptitude.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Experience bending conduit.
• Proven Leadership experience in installation or field operations.
• Hands-on experience installing and programming access control, CCTV, and burglar alarm systems.
• Familiarity with IP video, door controllers, readers, alarm panels and related software.

What you will do

We’re looking for a hands-on leader to guide our installation team in Alaska. In this role, you’ll plan, coordinate, and execute installation projects from kickoff to completion. You’ll install, program, and commission access control, CCTV, and burglar alarm systems; mentor and supervise field crews; ensure safety and quality; manage schedules, troubleshoot issues, and maintain strong customer and internal communications to deliver successful projects.

How you will do it

• Installs appropriate devices; dismantles and reconstructs equipment as required by customer or Tyco Integrated Security.
• Works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris.
• Contacts customers prior to the date of scheduled installation to verify schedule.
• Prepares estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions of supervisor.
• Follows proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
• Test’s operation of system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.
• Reads building, electrical and sprinkler blueprints as required.
• Coordinates installations with police/fire departments and handles necessary records for notification of emergency calls.
• Manage installation teams on larger projects.
• Coach and mentor less experienced installers.
• Remote travel required, using provided company vehicle and equipment.

What we look for

Required

• Some technical school training is a plus.
• 5+ years of electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated programming aptitude.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Experience bending conduit.
• Ability to always operate fleet vehicle in a safe manner.
• Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.
• Proven Leadership experience in installation or field operations
• Hands on experience installing and programming various access, CCTV and burglar alarm systems; familiarity with IP video, door controllers, readers, alarm panels and related software.

Preferred, not required

• Ccure Certification.
• Lenel certification

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $36-46 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
