Job summary

KellyMitchell Group seeks a Security Infrastructure Support Database Administrator to join our Bethesda, MD team. This role designs, implements, and maintains enterprise databases across on-prem and cloud, ensuring security, performance, and compliance.

You will manage backups, patches, and migrations, collaborating with developers and vendors while upholding federal cybersecurity standards. This position emphasizes encryption, access controls, and governance in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience designing, installing, maintaining, and supporting databases in hybrid environments.
• 2+ years in cybersecurity-focused environments or supporting secure data systems.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
• Strong understanding of cloud database services including AWS RDS and Azure SQL, with migration and security hardening.
• Familiarity with federal cybersecurity compliance frameworks: FISMA, NIST 800-53, NIST 800-92, OMB M-21-31, CDM.
• Experience with backup, recovery, patching, and replication strategies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven ability to collaborate with third-party vendors and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain database systems supporting enterprise IT and security operations.
• Manage and optimize databases across hybrid infrastructures on-prem and cloud.

• Design, configure, and maintain database systems supporting enterprise IT and security operations.
• Manage and optimize databases across hybrid infrastructures on-prem and cloud.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.

• 2+ years of experience working within cybersecurity-focused environments or supporting secure data systems.
• Hands-on experience with major database platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex database and security topics to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with third-party vendors and cross-functional teams.

The approximate pay range for this position is between $80.00 and $105.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
