Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Response in Springfield, IL. This part-time role involves patrolling government locations, maintaining a visible presence, and delivering exceptional customer service while following site procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of security-related experience.
• State, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to background investigation as per laws.
• Criminal histories considered in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public while following site procedures and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas to identify and report conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry, and maintain awareness of visitor and employee activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and notify appropriate personnel or emergency responders when required.
• Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift logs per Allied Universal and site requirements.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public while carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry as directed by site procedures, and maintain awareness of visitor and employee activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders when required.
• Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift logs in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
