Job summary

Allied Universal in Syracuse, NY is seeking a part-time Security Guard (Unarmed Patrol Driver) to protect patients, visitors, staff, and facilities. You will perform routine patrols, monitor access points, and respond to incidents while maintaining a courteous, safety-forward presence.

The role offers daytime and overnight shifts with competitive hourly pay and opportunities to learn our shift-claim platform for additional hours. A valid NY security license and driving eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Requirements: A valid driver’s license in the state where the job is located.
• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and other guests by carrying out site-specific procedures, healthcare facility policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, medical facility emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entry points, checking credentials as required, and directing patients and visitors to appropriate areas.
• Document observations, incidents, and security-related activities accurately and promptly in accordance with Allied Universal and site procedures.
