Job Description:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education and Experience: Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school; qualifying full-time law enforcement, security, or related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
- Other Requirements: A valid motor vehicle operator's license may be required for employment in some positions.
- Under general supervision, responsible for institutional and related security work of average difficulty and performs related work as required.
- May be assigned to work any shift to provide a full range of security activities, such as protecting public buildings.
Work Activities:
- Assist in Admissions by processing patients (e.g., wanding with a metal detector, pat downs).
- Review and document patients' belongings.
- Respond to calls and take appropriate action in emergencies.
- Respond to Code Situations as required.
- Control entrance and exit of individuals by verifying identity, purpose, and authorization.
- Escort individuals to ensure safety.
- Maintain records such as incident reports, vehicle citations, visitor logs, and personal property reports.
- Communicate security concerns to supervisor via telephone, written form, email, or in person.
- Coordinate with law enforcement agencies for incident reporting, information sharing, and assistance requests.
- Monitor facilities, alarms, and audiovisual security systems to check for hazards, disturbances, or violations.
- Observe individuals to ensure safety and policy compliance.
- Operate patrol and transport vehicles for security patrols or transporting valuables and individuals.
- Use two-way radios and other communication devices to accomplish security tasks.
