Allied Universal in Newport News, VA is seeking a Security Guard TWIC Roving Patrol to safeguard government and port facilities. This full-time role requires a TSA-issued TWIC and a state guard card; you will patrol, monitor access, deter unauthorized activity, and provide customer service to authorized personnel.

You’ll complete clear incident reports, coordinate with site leadership, and follow post orders to ensure safe, secure operations across port areas and transportation locations.

Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Tue 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Wed 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sat 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
• Sun 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to authorized personnel and visitors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of port facilities, access points, perimeter areas, parking areas, docks, and designated operational locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access control points, verify credentials as directed, observe vehicle and pedestrian traffic, and report irregularities or policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following post orders and established reporting protocols.
• Prepare clear and accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications for security-related events.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a TSA-issued TWIC.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
