Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Unarmed Security Guard in Brooklyn, NY. You will patrol assigned areas, provide a welcoming customer service presence, and deter security incidents with professional observation and reporting.

As a member of our team, you will follow site-specific policies, complete daily activity and incident reports, and coordinate with site leadership to maintain a safe, accessible environment for clients and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.
• Driver's license required only for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, staff, and individuals receiving services by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and other critical situations in a calm, professional manner with established reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random foot or vehicle patrols of the facility, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as required, and maintain an orderly environment.
• Prepare accurate daily activity and incident reports, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, staff, and individuals receiving services by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.


• Respond to incidents, behavioral concerns, medical emergencies, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established notification and reporting procedures.


• Conduct regular and random foot or vehicle patrols of the facility, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity, hazards, and access concerns.


• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as required, and help maintain an orderly environment for individuals, staff, and guests.


• Prepare accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and other required documentation, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.


• Be at least 21 years of age.


• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.


• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.


• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
