Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, seeks a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Incident Recognition in New York, NY. The role offers reliable hours at a designated site with opportunities to earn more by picking up extra shifts.

Pay rate is $18.87 per hour. The position features fixed anchor shifts and the Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift program, allowing combined site coverage and potential growth toward full‑time hours.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 1 year of security‑related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, staff, and individuals accessing a government‑operated social services location by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry in accordance with site procedures, and report unauthorized access attempts or suspicious activity to site leadership and/or appropriate responders.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and critical events in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner; document observations and actions according to established procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior areas, exterior grounds, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Maintain detailed activity logs and incident reports, communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site personnel, and support a professional, respectful environment for all individuals at the location.

Job Schedule

• Wed: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
