Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Guard for Residential Shelter in Long Island City, NY. You will provide security and customer service to residents, visitors, and staff while enforcing site policies and safety procedures.

The role is full-time with a daytime and evening schedule; valid NYS Security Guard License and at least 1 year of security experience are required. CPR/First Aid is preferred, and you must pass background checks and a drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of residential building areas, entrances, common spaces, grounds, and perimeter to identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site-specific procedures, helping to maintain an orderly residential environment.
• Document incidents, observations, patrol activities, and maintenance-related concerns accurately and communicate relevant information to site management and/or appropriate personnel.

As a Security Guard Residential Shelterin Long Island City, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential Shelters. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a residential setting, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication to residents, visitors, and staff. What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
