Allied Universal in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking a Security Guard Patrol Response to safeguard clients across Retail/Malls and similar environments. You will provide a visible security presence, perform routine patrols, and support a safe, welcoming atmosphere for visitors and staff.

This full-time, unarmed role offers steady shifts, a focus on customer service, incident reporting, and clear communication with visitors and tenants.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or equivalent.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required under federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, employees, and the public by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Respond to incidents and disturbances in a calm, professional manner, escalating when needed.
• Conduct regular and random foot or vehicle patrols of retail and public areas and surrounding perimeter.
• Monitor access points and report unauthorized access or suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a retail and mall setting, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service. What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, employees, and members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to established procedures.
• Conduct regular and random foot or vehicle patrols of retail and public-access areas, parking areas, entrances, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify unusual activity and policy concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, employee, and vendor activity, reporting unauthorized access attempts, suspicious behavior, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be a graduate of a Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or equivalent.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
